About the Shows

Music involves performing, organising sound and listening through the concepts of duration, pitch, dynamics, tone colour and structure.

Students will be LISTENING to an array of instruments, voices, gadgets and sounds, we will then ORGANISE SOUND interactively, then we step into PERFORMANCE mode to create a soundscape.

As a Primary Music specialist teacher, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist for ‘The Wiggles’, with all the fun of making music, Dom Lindsay breaks down the parts of songs and music.

As a K-6 MUSIC specialist teacher, I will ensure that we cover these essentials elements from the N.S.W. Creative Arts syllabus.

Performing allows students to develop their understanding of musical concepts through singing, playing and moving.

Organising sound involves students learning about the process of the composing and arranging music through a range of activities such as improvisation, experimentation, imitation and notation.

Listening allows students to develop an understanding of how an audience interacts with music and how to distinguish the presence and types of sound through a knowledge of musical concepts.

Dom Lindsay is a dynamic and engaging presenter who brings musical instruments to life for preschool and primary school children. His performances and workshops are high-energy, interactive experiences that captivate young audiences while teaching them about music in a fun and accessible way.

With a deep passion for music education, Dom demonstrates how songs are built, deconstructed, and reconstructed, helping children understand the different elements that make up a piece of music. Through hands-on participation, children get the opportunity to explore various instruments, from brass and woodwind to percussion and more. He encourages them to experiment with rhythm, melody, and harmony, making learning both exciting and memorable.

What sets Dom apart is his ability to create an engaging atmosphere where children feel empowered to participate. His humor, enthusiasm, and clear explanations make even complex musical concepts easy to grasp. By breaking down songs into simple parts and gradually putting them back together, he allows children to see—and hear—the magic of music in action.

Whether clapping rhythms, playing instruments, or singing along, students are fully involved in the musical experience. Dom Lindsay’s workshops leave children inspired, confident, and eager to explore music further.
